Confined to a room for nine months in a house she once called her home.

The Daughters of Róisín is a poignant ode to Ireland’s hidden past that explores the church and state sanctioned abuse against women over the last 100 years. Wee Yarn Productions in partnership with Sole Purpose Productions invite you to witness and journey with this forsaken Daughter of Ireland.

The play has sold out and had rapturous standing ovations at every performance in Belfast, Dublin and London. A must see!

“The Daughters of Roisin is a very poignant play, insightful and emotional, at times haunting, perfectly written and played by Aoibh Johnson. As the Lead Caseworker for Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses at WAVE Trauma Centre, I had the honour to watch the play together with women who years ago were pregnant, forced into Mother and Baby Homes and had to give up their babies for adoption. They found the performance very appropriate and thoughtful, and appreciated that the scandal and the ill treatment they had to endure finally comes more to the forefront.”

Sonja Tammen, Lead Caseworker, WAVE Trauma Centre
